In an effort to tweak the use of the laser cutter; to use it at its best, a few changes have been made in power and speed settings as well as the directions for setup in AutoCAD. Please make sure that you have re-read the directions before sending your laser cutter jobs.
ALERT! Recently, for an unknown reason, the universal laser.ctb file is becoming corrupt. In order to make ensure that you can get the laser job that you want, it is HIGHLY recommended that you download the universal laser.ctb to the computer you are using each time you want to use the laser cutter.
Warning! Using the laser cutter is a trial and error process. The settings for the materials are to be used as general guidelines for using the laser cutter. The settings can differ substantially between cut jobs depending on material composition and drawing characteristics. (see FAQs) All backing material must be removed, from the "cut side" of the material, by the user PRIOR to dropping it off at the Media Services room for processing.
