Adding Printers

To connect to a printer if you are in the domain, the steps are relatively simple. This applies to any network printer that you wish to print to.

To add a printer, please follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Click on the START button and select RUN

Step 2: In the RUN command window that appears, type in the following:

\\arpl-5.ap.buffalo.edu OR \\arpl-15.ap.buffalo.edu

Step 3: You will be prompted to log in. Use your UBit username (AD\username) and your UBit password.

Step 3: A list of printers available will appear. Double click on the printer that you want to connect to for printing. A connection window will appear with a flashlight as the system downloads the necessary drivers to the local computer. When completed, the a printer queue window will appear.

You are now ready to print to the selected printer.

If you are attempting to connect to the printers via the wireless network or from a location OUTSIDE the School of Architecture and Planning, you will be REQUIRED to install, and authenticate to the network on campus using the UB VPN CLIENT.
