Note: Due to an issue with Windows Mobile 6.1 and some mobile devices, recurring appointments without expiration dates may cause the device to overflow buffers and overheat. To resolve this problem, before completing these steps below, please connect to Outlook and edit any recurring appointments, setting an expiration date to sometime in 2012.
- On the phone go into the Active Sync application
- Start -> Programs -> Active Sync
- Delete existing Exchange server partnership. This will delete contacts, mail, folders. etc. that is from the Exchange Server.
- Menu -> Options and choice delete
- Answer "yes" to deleting all synchronized data.
- Click "ok"
- Select the menu option, "configure server"
- In Server address enter "exchowa.buffalo.edu"
- Make sure the box "This server requires an encrypted connection" is checked
- Click Next
- Enter is the username, password and domain (AD or ITORG)
- Make sure the check box "save password" is check.
- Click Next
- Click Finish
Force a manual sync and verify that mail, calendar and contacts are downloaded to the device
