Remote desktop on a Windows computer
If you plan on using remote desktop to your office system, please contact Doug McCallum (829-3485 ext 216 or mccallum(at)buffalo.edu), so that your office system can be properly configured for your use.
NOTE: You need to have the VPN client installed (Get it from UBit web site).
- From your computer, start the VPN client.
- Log in using your username and password.
- Click on START – PROGRAMS – ACCESSORIES – Remote Desktop
- When the remote desktop application starts, type in [your-system-name].ap.buffalo.edu into the computer window.
- Click on the options button and enter your username as: ad\[your-username]
- Click connect.
- It will connect to your desktop in your office.
- Log in and use your office computer like you normally would.
- When done with your office computer, click on START – Logoff.
[your-system-name] is located on the side of your computer on a white sticker. The system name starts with ARPL-.
Remote desktop on a Mac computer
Remote desktop is available for the Mac Os as well. It must be first downloaded from Mircosoft's web site (http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/remote-desktop/default.mspx) and then follow the directions above.
