Introduction to Printing

At the School of Architecture and Planning, there are many options for printing. All printers are managed by the media services staff as either part of or near one of the media services offices. You have the capability to print anything from 8.5 inches x 11 inches black and white or full color all the way up to something that is 60 inches wide and 129 inches long. We also stock a wide variety of printing material including:

  • cover stock soft gloss laser paper
  • cover stock ultra gloss laser paper
  • 80 lb cover stock 11" x 17" laser paper

  • transparency plotter paper

Every student is charged a nominal fee for printing. Printing prices vary from device to device and between media types. Print charges work on a declining balance system with each student receiving an initial balance of $31.25 (625 pages B&W) each semester. Printing balances can be checked online by visiting the site: http://www.ap.buffalo.edu/printing. This site provides you with a detailed list of everything that has been printed, on which device it was printed and how much was charged.

Additional money can be added to the declining balance by using the university's campus cash system at the Hayes Media Service office. If you do not have campus cash or need to add additional campus cash to your account, then you can visit the site: http://www.myubcard.com.

Additional Information on location and types of printers can be found here.
