Any individual who wishes to connect their personal computers to the University's networks can only access the network through the available openports or wireless connections. Static IP addresses are not assigned to non-university assets.
Due to the rising security concerns, CIT has been conducting security and patch scans of the university's network. Systems that are not patched or up to date with virus protection are immediately reported to each IT node's coordinator. Systems that are not owned and therefore maintained by the School of Architecture and Planning can not be verified as secure and up to date. The openport and wireless networking on campus are protected from allowing infected or compromised systems from propagating malicious data to the entire university community.
