Tips and Tricks
- When scanning, do all of the enlargement and resizing from the original. The more that the image is resized AFTER scanning, the more pixilated and distortion will occur.
- When scanning, it is not necessary to scan the image at the resolution of the printer that it will be printed on. Please see Image DPI vs. Printer DPI Help.
Frequently Asked Questions
Question: Why is my picture only 2" x 2.5" when I open
it in PhotoShop?
Answer: Unless configured otherwise, the scanner is configured
to scan and save the image at its original size. To enlarge the image during
the scanning process's, configure the Crop options in the Tool palette to
increase the image in scale during the scanning process.
NOTE: It is suggested that all enlarging be done DURING the scanning process. Any enlargements made after the scanning process will degrade the quality of the image is resized larger than the original.
This is the latest addition to the Digital Media Group. It is capable of scanning slides and negatives. The negative carrier can be loaned from the Media Services Staff in Hayes 235.
